This picture currently represents my 'sense of place'--aka the Florida Gulf Coast University dorms!

My sense of place comes from a lot of different things. It comes from my family, my friends, the classes that I am taking, the food that I like to eat, the career path that I am choosing to take, and my places that I was to go. My sense of place is pretty much just a big ball of things that make up who I am. My family and where I come from: I was born and raised in great city of Jacksonville, Florida! I have a mom and dad who are both teachers, and a brother who is a student like me, except for the fact that he attends the University of North Florida.

My friends: The majority of my friends I have know for my whole life, but I have made a lot of new friends since coming to college and many of them I hope to know for the rest of my life! :)! My friends come from all different types of backgrounds and I pride myself on having a very diverse group of close companions. My classes: I am currently a Junior here at Florida Gulf Coast University majoring in Marketing and am loving it! I honestly choose to come down here on a whim. I wanted to go some where kind of far from home, but needed to stay in the state of Florida. So it came down to either FGCU or Florida International University and my mom wasn't super keen on letting her youngest child just run of to Miami. Therefore I ended up coming to FGCU sight unseen! GO EAGLES!! Even though I love the FGCU I like food and eating just a little bit more! There's a saying that goes "The way into a man's heart is through his stomach", well the way into my everything is through food! I am always down to eat and try new things, especially when I am traveling somewhere new. Traveling in recent years has become one of my newest hobbies. Whether it is just going home with a friend for the weekend or jet setting off to Europe somewhere you can pretty much always count me in! I am actually planning on studying abroad this up coming fall through the Lugert College of Business!
